Job Purpose

The Site/Project Engineer – Mechanical will be responsible for supervising, executing, and monitoring HVAC and utility systems at the project site in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. The role ensures timely completion and smooth coordination of mechanical services including HVAC, chilled water, and process utilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute HVAC and utility works at the site as per GFC drawings, BOQs, and project specifications.

  • Supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of HVAC systems such as AHUs, FCUs, ducting, chilled water piping, insulation, and associated equipment.

  • Execute and monitor utility systems, including compressed air, steam, process piping, and related mechanical services.

  • Coordinate daily site activities with contractors, vendors, consultants, and client engineers.

  • Verify incoming materials, check quality, and ensure proper storage as per project standards.

  • Monitor daily progress, plan manpower deployment, and prepare Daily Progress Reports (DPRs).

  • Carry out site measurements and material take-offs, and ensure controlled material consumption.

  • Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, PPE compliance, and site safety procedures.

  • Raise RFIs, conduct internal quality checks, and assist during third-party inspections.

  • Attend coordination meetings with civil, electrical, and other service teams to ensure smooth execution.

  • Maintain documentation related to as-built drawings, material reconciliation, test reports, and commissioning records.

  • Monitor subcontractor performance and proactively escalate delays, quality issues, or risks to the project manager.

Key Skills & Competencies

  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and utilities, including AHUs, FCUs, ducting, piping, pumps, and insulation.

  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings, BOQs, and technical specifications.

  • Hands-on experience in site execution planning, material management, and subcontractor coordination.

  • Good understanding of safety practices, QA/QC standards, and site compliance requirements.

  • Effective communication, reporting, and documentation skills.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Diploma / B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering.

  • 2–3 years of relevant experience in HVAC and utility execution (commercial, industrial, pharmaceutical, or clean room projects preferred).
