Growth Academic Manager – (EdTech)

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Assistant Regional Head from the EdTech industry to lead the strategic and business operations of the assigned region. The role will be responsible for driving regional profitability, developing business strategies, leading teams, and ensuring sustainable business growth.

The candidate will be responsible for acquiring new schools, strengthening relationships with existing schools, and increasing revenue across the region. The ideal candidate should be an inspiring leader with strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and proven sales leadership experience.

Key Responsibilities

1. Business Development & Franchise Expansion 

  • Develop and execute a national strategy to expand Tata ClassEdge’s franchise and ASP network.
  • Identify, qualify, and engage prospective schools, education groups, trusts, and promoters.
  • Conduct consultative discussions with school management teams to understand growth aspirations and institutional challenges.
  • Present and promote Tata ClassEdge’s Franchise and ASP offerings.
  • Build a strong acquisition funnel and manage the complete school conversion lifecycle.
  • Achieve annual franchise and ASP growth targets.

2. Process Excellence & Scale 

  • Create standard operating procedures for:
  • School acquisition
  • Franchise onboarding
  • ASP implementation
  • Governance reviews
  • School audits
  • Retention programmes
  • Build scalable frameworks that support rapid franchise growth.
  • Establish regional support mechanisms to ensure consistent service delivery across all partner schools

 
3. School Feasibility & Due Diligence 

  • Evaluate prospective schools from academic, operational, financial, infrastructure, leadership, and market perspectives.
  • Assess franchise viability and readiness for transformation.
  • Advise school leadership on regulatory requirements, board alignment, compliance needs, and growth opportunities.
  • Prepare feasibility reports and recommendations for onboarding.

4. Partner Success, Growth & Retention 

  • Develop strategic growth plans for partner schools.
  • Work with school leadership teams to improve enrolment, academic positioning, governance, and parent satisfaction.
  • Establish retention programmes to ensure long-term partnerships.
  • Track value realization and ensure schools achieve defined business and academic outcomes.
  • Proactively identify risks impacting partnership continuity and implement mitigation plans.

5. Academic Support Programme (ASP) Governance 

  • Lead the implementation and adoption of Tata ClassEdge's Academic Support Programme. 
  • Ensure schools adopt prescribed academic and operational standards. 
  • Drive curriculum alignment, academic planning, assessment practices, and quality frameworks. 
  • Monitor implementation effectiveness and programme impact. 


6. Academic Consulting & School Transformation 

  • Advise schools on:  
  • o NEP 2020 implementation 
  • o NCrF adoption 
  • o SAFAL readiness 
  • o SQAAF compliance 
  • o Competency-based learning 
  • o School improvement planning 
  • Guide schools in strengthening leadership, teaching practices, assessment systems, and institutional effectiveness. 
  • Support schools in building future-ready academic ecosystems. 


7. Teacher & Leadership Development Programme 

  • Create and deploy teacher upskilling and leadership development programmes.
  • Build annual training roadmaps for franchise and ASP schools.
  • Work with academic teams to establish professional development pathways.
  • Ensure capability enhancement initiatives translate into measurable school improvement.

8. Governance, Audits & Performance Management 

  • Develop governance frameworks for franchise and ASP schools. 
  • Define school performance metrics, scorecards, and review mechanisms. 
  • Conduct academic and operational audits. 
  • Monitor compliance with Tata ClassEdge standards, SOPs, and implementation guidelines. 
  • Publish periodic business, academic, and governance reviews. 

9. Team Leadership 

  • Build and lead a high-performing Franchise and ASP Success team. 
  • Establish regional support structures for partner schools. 
  • Define KPIs, review mechanisms, and accountability frameworks. 
  • Drive a customer-centric culture focused on value creation and retention.

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Master’s degree in Education, Business Administration, School Leadership, or Educational Management. 
  • B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred. 
  • MBA preferred for candidates with strong business development and franchise management experience. 
  • 6-8 years of experience in K-12 education, educational services, school consulting, school franchising, or academic transformation. 
  • Proven experience in school business development, franchise expansion, or school partnership management. 
  • Experience working with school owners, trustees, promoters, principals, and leadership teams. 
  • Demonstrated track record in acquiring, growing, and retaining school partnerships. 
  • Experience in school transformation, academic consulting, or education solutions sales is highly desirable.
