Position: Design Manager- Pump
Location: Thane
Experience: 6+ Years
Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
Design Oversight & Technical Leadership
Lead and review design activities, including 3D modelling in SolidWorks and 2D drafting in AutoCAD.
Supervise and validate design calculations, material selection, and GD&T compliance.
Guide FEA activities and ensure robust design validation where required.
Project & Team Management
Coordinate with internal teams to manage project timelines, resource allocation, and design deliverables.
Mentor and support junior design engineers to enhance technical capabilities and design standards.
Drive design reviews and ensure timely resolution of technical challenges.
Drawing & Documentation Control
Oversee the preparation of component, fabrication, and machining drawings.
Ensure all designs adhere to applicable standards, quality norms, and customer requirements.
Manage design iteration records and ensure design traceability.
BOM & System Integration
Review and authorize accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP.
Coordinate with production and procurement teams to ensure design compatibility and cost efficiency.
Cross-functional Collaboration
Liaise with Manufacturing, QA/QC, R&D, and Sales to align design intent with
Functional requirements.
Provide on-site support during assembly, testing, and troubleshooting phases.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s degree preferred).
Experience:
6-10 years in pump or rotating equipment design, with leadership or supervisory experience.
Technical Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in SolidWorks (3D modelling) and AutoCAD (2D drafting).
- In-depth knowledge of design calculations, material science, and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with SAP for BOM management.
- Familiarity with FEA tools for structural analysis is a strong advantage.
