City Manager – Apparel (Retail)

Job Responsibilities:

• Drive city-level sales, revenue, and profitability targets across multiple stores.
• Monitor store performance, KPIs, productivity, and achievement of business targets.
• Lead, coach, and mentor Store Managers and store leadership teams.
• Ensure operational excellence, customer service, and adherence to Burnt Toast Store standards.
• Analyse sales trends, inventory, stock availability, conversion, and category performance.
• Drive visual merchandising, store presentation, promotions, and seasonal business plans.
• Identify business opportunities and implement action plans to improve store performance.
• Monitor shrinkage, operational costs, and compliance across stores.
• Ensure effective manpower planning, team engagement, training, and talent development.
• Track competitor activity and local market trends to identify growth opportunities.
• Coordinate with central teams such as merchandising, supply chain, HR, VM, and finance.
• Conduct regular store visits and review operational gaps and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, SOPs, safety, and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications & Experience:  

• 5-10 years of experience in retail operations, preferably in fashion, lifestyle, or large-format retail.
• Experience managing multiple stores/cluster/city operations.
• Strong understanding of sales, P&L, inventory, manpower, and retail KPIs.
• Excellent leadership, analytical, and communication skills.
• Strong customer-centric and business-oriented approach.
• Ability to manage multiple stores and drive business performance at the city level.
