Lead the mechanical design of structural components and assemblies for special purpose machines (road rollers, asphalt pavers, saw cutters, etc.).
Guide and manage a design team, overseeing model creation, analysis, validation, and final product implementation.
Use tools like Creo, UG NX, SolidWorks (and ideally Teamcenter) to perform conceptual and detailed design.
Perform GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, DFMEA, DFA, DFS, and ensure safety/industry standards compliance.
Collaborate with manufacturing, product management, vendors, and clients to ensure design feasibility and cost-effectiveness.
Work on ECO/ECN for product improvement and sustaining engineering.
Select and specify standard components (gearboxes, motors, hydraulics, etc.).
Support manufacturing processes by ensuring design for manufacturability and assembly.
6+ years of mechanical/structural design experience, preferably in special-purpose machines or heavy equipment.
Hands-on experience in 3D modelling (Creo, UG NX, SolidWorks) and experience with PLM tools (Teamcenter preferred).
Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, tolerance analysis, GD&T, and design for manufacturing/assembly.
Excellent communication skills and ability to lead a team and work cross-functionally.
Bonus: Experience with powertrain components or mobile equipment mechanisms.
