Business Development Representative (BDR)

Role Overview

As a BDR, you will be responsible for identifying, engaging, and creating opportunities within high-value target accounts.

This is not purely a high-volume calling or mass-emailing role. The focus is on strategic account research, understanding business challenges, identifying decision-makers, mapping multiple stakeholders, and creating personalized outbound strategies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Account Prospecting

  • Research and identify accounts aligned with Orvera’s Ideal Customer Profile (ICP).
  • Understand target organizations, including their business model, customer service operations, technology landscape, growth priorities, and pain points.
  • Identify key decision-makers, influencers, and buying stakeholders.
  • Build account maps and develop multi-threaded engagement strategies.
  • Prioritize accounts based on business potential, use-case fit, buying signals, and organizational context.

2. Account Penetration & Multi-Channel Outreach

  • Develop customized outreach strategies for strategic accounts.
  • Engage prospects through cold calling, personalized emails, LinkedIn, and other relevant channels.
  • Build relationships with multiple stakeholders within target accounts.
  • Follow up intelligently based on prospect behavior and business context.
  • Develop creative approaches to penetrate difficult-to-reach enterprise accounts.

3. Consultative Prospecting

  • Conduct prospect conversations with a business-problem-first and consultative approach.
  • Understand prospects’ current processes, challenges, priorities, and desired business outcomes.
  • Ask effective discovery questions instead of relying on a product-focused pitch.
  • Identify relevant business use cases for Orvera’s solutions.
  • Communicate value effectively and secure qualified next-step meetings.

4. Pipeline Generation

  • Generate qualified meetings and sales opportunities for the Account Executive and sales teams.
  • Own prospecting activity and pipeline generation targets.
  • Maintain a healthy pipeline of target accounts and prospects.
  • Maintain accurate CRM records, account intelligence, qualification details, interactions, and next steps.
  • Continuously optimize messaging, channels, personas, and account strategies based on performance.

5. Sales & Market Intelligence

  • Collaborate with Account Executives, Sales Leadership, and Marketing to improve prospecting strategies.
  • Share insights on market response, objections, competitors, and emerging use cases.
  • Identify patterns across successful and unsuccessful outreach.
  • Contribute to improving outbound playbooks, messaging, qualification frameworks, and account-selection strategies.
