Quality Manager

Role Objective: The Quality Manager will ensure food safety and product quality across all stages – from raw materials to finished goods. The role focuses on maintaining standards, handling audits, and improving processes in a frozen food manufacturing setup.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Quality & Compliance

  • Implement and maintain HACCP, GMP, SOPs, and food safety systems
  • Ensure compliance with FSSAI, ISO 22000, BRCGS, etc.
  • Handle internal, external, and customer audits
  • Maintain proper documentation and traceability

2. Raw Material Quality

  • Check and approve potatoes, oil, ingredients, and packaging
  • Understand potato quality (size, sugar level, defects, etc.)
  • Work with vendors to resolve quality issues

3. In-Process Quality

  • Monitor key processes like blanching, frying, freezing, and packing
  • Control critical points (CCPs) and maintain quality standards
  • Reduce wastage and improve process efficiency

4. Finished Goods Quality

  • Ensure products meet taste, safety, and quality standards
  • Approve final products before dispatch
  • Handle customer complaints and take corrective actions

5. Lab & Testing

  • Manage lab testing (oil quality, moisture, colour, etc.)
  • Coordinate with external labs when needed
  • Ensure all equipment is calibrated

6. Team Handling

  • Manage QA/QC team and shop-floor quality
  • Conduct training on hygiene and food safety
  • Ensure discipline and compliance

7. Continuous Improvement

  • Analyse quality issues and improve processes
  • Work on yield, shelf life, and product quality
  • Support new product development
