Production Head ( Sheet Metal)

Role Overview:
The Production Head will lead and manage the entire sheet metal manufacturing operations, ensuring efficient production planning, quality compliance, manpower management, and continuous improvement. This role requires deep technical knowledge of sheet metal processes and strong leadership skills to drive productivity, reduce costs, and meet delivery timelines.

1. Production Planning & Execution:
 Develop and execute daily, weekly, and monthly production plans.
 Allocate resources (machines, manpower, materials) effectively.
 Monitor production workflows and ensure adherence to schedules.

2. Operations Management:
 Oversee sheet metal processes including laser cutting, CNC punching, bending, welding, spot welding, fabrication, powder coating, and assembly.
 Optimize machine utilization and reduce downtime.
 Ensure maintenance schedules are followed.

3. Quality Assurance:
 Ensure compliance with quality standards (ISO/TS certifications if applicable).
 Work closely with QA team to reduce rework, rejection and improve first-pass yield.
 Implement root cause analysis for defects.

4. Cost & Productivity Control
 Manage production budgets and reduce manufacturing costs.
 Implement productivity improvement techniques such as Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM.
 Monitor KPIs such as OEE, output vs. plan, wastage, and efficiency.

5. Team Management
 Lead and supervise supervisors, engineers, and the shop floor workforce.
 Conduct skill training and performance evaluations.
 Ensure compliance with safety norms and workplace discipline.

6. Coordination & Communication
 Coordinate with Planning, Purchase, Design, Maintenance, Quality, and Dispatch teams.
 Ensure timely delivery as per customer schedules.
 Conduct daily production meetings and report to management.

7. Continuous Improvement
 Drive automation, new process development, and tooling optimization.
 Recommend improvements in layout planning and material flow.

Required Experience:
 7-10 years in the sheet metal fabrication industry.
 Strong leadership & cross-functional coordination
 Production planning & workflow optimization
 Decision-making, analytical and communication skills

Education
 Diploma / BE / B. Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering,
Industrial Engineering or equivalent.
