Utility Estimation & Design Engineer

We are hiring a skilled Utility Estimation & Design Engineer with 2–5 years of experience in utility costing, tendering, and design coordination for industrial utility systems such as Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Water Treatment Systems, and HVAC Utility Integration.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cost estimation, BOQ preparation, vendor coordination, and compliance with industrial standards such as GMP and ISO. The role involves working closely with internal teams to ensure accurate project costing and cost optimization for Utility Projects across Pharma, Food, and Chemical plants.

Roles & Responsibilities

1. Utility Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates and BOQs for utilities—Boilers, Chillers, Air Compressors, Cooling Towers, WTP/RO/DM Plants, Steam & Utility Piping.

• Analyze tender documents, P&IDs, layouts, and utility schematics.

• Perform rate analysis for materials, fabrication, and subcontracting.

2. Design Review & Technical Analysis

• Review utility designs, pipeline sizing, load calculations, and fuel consumption.

• Support value engineering and optimize utility equipment selection.

3. Vendor & Procurement Coordination

• Coordinate with utility equipment vendors (Boilers, Chillers, Compressors, RO, WTP).

• Prepare vendor comparison sheets and techno-commercial evaluations.

• Negotiate pricing and technical specifications.

4. Tender & Client Coordination

• Prepare techno-commercial proposals, tender documentation, and bid submissions.

• Attend pre-bid meetings and client discussions.

• Provide technical clarifications and support the sales/proposal team.

5. Cost Control & Project Budgeting

• Track cost deviations and support management in cost control.

• Prepare MIS reports, cost tracking dashboards, and estimation audits.

6. Team Coordination & Documentation

• Coordinate with Design, Projects, and Procurement teams for accurate estimations.

• Maintain costing records, documentation, and reference databases.

Qualifications

• B.E./B.Tech/Diploma in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering.

• 2–5 years of experience in Utility Estimation / Costing.

• Strong understanding of Industrial Utilities: Steam, Chilled Water, Compressed Air, WTP/ETP.

• Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Excel, and estimation-related tools/software.
